SECOND LIFE COLLECTION

Motivada por la grandeza y diversidad de la flora de mi país me dedique a recolectar en diferentes bosques y áreas verdes del país coleccionando así un sin numero de semillas y frutos secos . Utilizo solo lo que cae al piso, sin dañar la naturaleza. La belleza atrapada en estas inertes semillas me envolvió y nació la idea de prolongar su vida y resaltar su hermosura sin cambiar su flujo natural. El crecer, morir y transformarse en una línea de joyería llamada “Second Life”. La joyería crea un nuevo ambiente para la flora recolectada, dando un significado de nostalgia, conciencia y fragilidad a la pieza. Con mi trabajo quiero destacar los elementos naturales y crear una respuesta emocional a ellos, trayendo de vuelta el sentido de la vida a la naturaleza muerta. Recordando al publico y su usuario sobre la belleza e importancia de la naturaleza, la cual debe ser admirada y cuidada siempre.

The word "organism" is broadly defined as an assembly of molecules that function as a more or less stable whole and has the properties of life. For this series called " Second Life Nature" I want to incorporate death organisms into jewelry, creating an assembly of pieces that function as a stable whole ( a jewelry piece) bringing back the sense of life to the death organism. I wish to explore the idea of making a death organism live again within jewelry. Death organisms are not able to survive by themselves for a long time, unless I picked them up and create a new “environment” for them within my jewelry, maintaining them alive.I have chosen to use natural found elements and silver to create a body of work that transmits fragility, nostalgia and a emotion of empathy to its viewers. Reminding them about nature’s beauty and importance. Nature should not be taken for granted, it should be admire and taken care of. With my work I want to highlight the natural elements and create an emotional response to them.

This is my piece made of six-pack rings and copper. I want to create a transgression from plastic to metal creating a choker which looks threatening but pretty at the same time. I was inspired by the harm caused to animals and the idea of how will it feel on humans. I want to make the wearer feel trapped with the material, the same way animals do.

Second life nature series!
